One question before we start
Have you backed up everything?
Before I touch your website, data, accounts or files, you back them up. All of it. Every project starts there, no exceptions. It's the cheapest insurance in business, and it protects us both.
How a project works
Agree the problem
We write down exactly what we're solving. Not a wish list, the problem.
Agree the measure
We agree how we'll know it's solved, using an independent source we both trust, like your own sales, bookings or analytics.
Agree the risks
Every quote comes with a risk assessment made for your business. We both sign off on it before any work starts.
Do the work
AI does the grunt work. I check everything. Nothing goes live until a human has checked it.
Hand it over
You keep it, and you know how to use it.
What I need from you
This is a collaboration. The output is only as good as the input.
- Backups first. Of everything I'll work on, before I start.
- Access. To the accounts, files and people the work needs.
- Accurate information. Rubbish in, rubbish out.
- Timely feedback. And one person who can make the call.
- A heads-up. If something in your business changes, tell me early.
Scope: the biggest danger to any project
The agreed scope is the job. New ideas are welcome, and they become a new quote, not a quiet add-on. That protects your budget, my timeline and the result we agreed to measure.
More projects are sunk by scope creep than by bad ideas.
Fees and no lock-in
- No price list. Your problem and your budget set an agreed scope and price, in writing, before work starts.
- Reports included. At no extra cost, because they're how you see results.
- Travel is separate. Agreed with you before it's booked.
- No lock-in contracts. The minimum is one month. After that, either of us can stop at the end of any month with written notice.
- Payment terms are set out on your quote. Prices are in Australian dollars, and GST is shown on your invoice where it applies.
The fix-it warranty
For the lifetime of anything I build for you, if it stops doing what we agreed it would do, I'll fix it. It doesn't cover:
- Changed information. When the information it was built on has substantially changed.
- New data. When data has been added that it wasn't built to handle.
- New uses. When it's used for something it wasn't designed to do.
The fine print, in plain English
- Who you're dealing with
- Brad, trading as Maverick Digital, Coffs Harbour NSW, Australia. ABN (Australian Business Number): 22 830 048 234.
- Who owns what
- You own the finished work you've paid for, and all of your data. I keep my general know-how, methods and tools, and I never reuse your business knowledge for another client.
- Confidentiality
- What you share about your business stays private. I use it only for your work, and share it only with the tools needed to do that work (listed in my Privacy Policy) or where the law requires.
- AI moves fast
- My advice reflects the tools and releases available when I give it. The principles hold. The specifics can change, and I'll tell you when they do.
- Results
- We agree the measures up front, and I'm accountable for my work. Markets, platforms and customers are outside anyone's control, so I don't promise specific numbers.
- Your rights
- Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Beyond those rights, my liability is limited to the fees you paid for the work concerned.
- This website
- What's on this site is general information, not advice for your situation. Share it freely, with a link back.
- Law
- These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia.
- Changes
- If anything changes, this page changes first, with a new date at the top. Work already underway stays on the terms in its quote.
- Questions
- Ask before you sign, not after. Talk to me and I'll answer in plain English.
